Roberto Dessì

Roberto got his B.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of Rome La Sapienza. He is currently an MSc candidate in Cognitive Science at CIMeC (University of Trento) in the Language and Multimodal Interaction track. After an internship in Speech Translation at FBK in Trento he joined L2R lab for his master thesis as part of the UniTN-SISSA program.

In the lab, Roberto studies computational models of language evolution in MARL (Multi-Agent-Reinforcement-Learning) in the setting of referential games, supervised by Davide and Marco Baroni (Facebook and University of Trento). He wishes to investigate what features of an artificial learning environment lead neural-network-based agents to develop a compositional language.
